A Tooele man is facing criminal charges after allegedly telling police he sexually abused a 2-year-old boy.
According to a police report, an officer from the Tooele City Police Department went to a Tooele home in March on a report of a sexual offense. There, Gregory Kessinger, 23, told the officer he had sexually abused a 2-year-old boy while baby-sitting him and his siblings five months before.
Kessinger told the officer he had been high on methamphetamine at the time, and that the abuse only lasted one or two seconds, according to the report.
Medical personnel were called, the report states, because Kessinger told the officer he was suicidal. He was taken to a mental health hospital for care. He was released last month, the report states.
Kessinger was charged with one count of sexual abuse of a child, a second-degree felony, on Thursday. His initial appearance in 3rd District Court is scheduled for June 2.
