Tooele City officially kicked off its week-long Fourth of July celebration last weekend with the city’s sprint and kids triathlons, but the party continues this week with nightly entertainment tonight through Saturday.

The fun continues tonight with an outdoor showing of Disney’s “Frozen” at Tooele City Park at 260 W. Vine Street. The show is free to the public, and popcorn will be provided, though patrons are encouraged to bring blankets or lawn chairs. The movie will begin at 9 p.m.

On Wednesday, the Utah National Guard’s 23nd Army Band will treat area residents to a free patriotic concert beginning at 7 p.m., again located at Tooele City Park. As with all concerts at the park, seating is limited, so those who attend are encouraged to bring their own chairs or ground cover.

On Thursday, Tooele City will turn over the mic to residents with a city-wide karaoke at Tooele City Park from 4–6 p.m. Karaoke will be divided into two parts, with open mic for the first hour of the event, and a karaoke contest beginning at 5 p.m. Those who wish to participate should pre-register by calling Ron Baum at 435-843-3584.

The city will also kick off two long-standing Fourth of July traditions on Thursday. The Corvette Car show will begin run from 5–8 p.m. on Thursday at Tooele City Park.

The Bit and Spur Riding Club will also kick off its Fourth of July rodeo on Thursday at 8 p.m. at Deseret Peak Complex. Tickets are available for purchase at the gate or online at bitandspurridingclub.com. The rodeo will continue on Friday at 8 p.m., with fireworks to follow.

The city has a full slate of events for the Fourth itself, beginning with the annual 5k Freedom Run at 7 a.m. and the Chamber of Commerce breakfast at 7:30 a.m. at Veterans Memorial Park on the intersection of Vine and Main Street.

After the 5k wraps up, the city parade will begin at 9 a.m., with the route following Main and Vine toward the city park. After the parade, the city carnival, which this year will feature live entertainment by Charley Jenkins, will commence at the Tooele City Park at 11 a.m. The concert will be free to the public.

The festivities extend into Saturday with the much-anticipated Fourth of July concert and fireworks with Diamond Rio at the Tooele High School Football Field. Tickets are $5 for general admission and can be bought at Macey’s or at Tooele City Hall. Gates open at 7 p.m., and the concert will begin at 8 p.m.
